The Magical Leaf
One of the most underestimated ways to remove toxins is by sweating. Sweat can remove the wastes in the body more naturally.
In Siddha, taking a sunbath with a banana leaf is often considered a good combination. If you are curious about why one uses a banana leaf, it is because all the parts of a banana tree – be it banana leaf, banana stem, banana flowers – all help convert UV rays to healthy rays, and also have great medicinal value. Make sure the body is fully covered with banana leaves for at least 1 to 2 hours. You have to cover up to your neck and wrap your head in a wet cloth. This is said to cure asthma, urinary tract problems, initiate weight loss, reduce problems like thyroid problem, respiratory problem, infertility in male, PCOD, leg pain, hand pain, spinal problem, indigestion, one side headache, etc.
Some Don’ts Before Sunbath
- Do not sunbathe apart from these timings (8 am -10 am or 3 pm – 5 pm).
- Note that people with depression, pregnancy, high sugar, high/low bp should not take this treatment.
- Do not sleep in an air-conditioned room, the previous night.
- Before going to sunbathe, drink at least 1-2 litres of water.
- Do not have a regular bath after sunbathing immediately. Wait for 45 minutes before taking a regular bath.
- Avoid having coffee, tea, or cool drinks the previous or same day.
Try to sunbathe every 15 days to notice some weight loss and also experience delayed aging. Also, try to eat raw vegetables, raw fruits, cucumber juice, orange juice, and other organic food – the day before the sunbath. Women with PCOD are also said to be benefitted to a great extent.
Apart from this, try eating food on a banana leaf as it is said to keep the body younger, and helps you live longer by protecting you from some diseases. It is a big NO to use plastic plates while you consume/store/prepare food.
What more? Eating food served on banana leaves is also very eco-friendly and easily decomposes in a short time unlike plastic. Finally! Do not forget that this is the best way to have a meal as it contains traces of EGCG that are used in dietary supplements.
